I am exceedingly proud of this outfit. I've rarely had a successful go at making textures for clothes in 3D, but this just flowed.

"Fire and Water" - These two are too cute not to mess with. Demyx (not a merperson in the game) is a water element. Axel is a fire element. I let sweet innocent Demyx get naughty, and I don't think Axel cares that he's drowning right now.

I absolutely love the background. I made it from different water brushes I purchased.

Inspired by Magic Rat's fanfic, though this is no particular scene in her stories. I was playing with exploring my new 3D program, and decided to see if I could put two people together. These are the two that came to mind.

From a technical standpoint, I call it "not bad". I'm still not in love with the lighting (This pic is the eighth lighting variation.), and despite going half-blind tweaking facial features, both figures have remarkably the same faces (Ack!).

Again, inspired by Magic Rat's fanfic. A Plains Elf (no one in particular) who got spied upon....and didn't like it.

I learned a new technical trick in my 3D program. An alternate title for this pic might be "Lookit! I figured out how to make reflections!"

"The Shaman's Death"

Again, inspired by Magic Rat's fanfic A Far Distant Shore. Elrohir mourns the death of his husband, the Shaman.

"The Reunion" - The storm has passed, the sky turns blue, and Frost has returned from the Fairy Realm to rejoin his husband. Elrohir, despite being caught in his husband's considerable grip, doesn't quite believe that his beloved is home.

Having done the death, I had to do the reunion between Frost and Elrohir. I wanted to see the full body shot of them together so you could tell it was the same place as the "Shaman's Death" image (not to mention I spent ages posing their bodies together like that), but then the faces were totally lost by the distance from the camera. So I did a close-up, and the locale was lost. So I split the difference, and the result is what you see here.

"Lindir's Nana" - Lindir's Nana is a selfish, manipulative bitch. When Lindir finally asserts himself as an actual adult instead of the permanent baby Nana wants him to be, she gets angry, has a tantrum, and finally collapses in an attempt at making Lindir feel like shit and giving in to her demands. She succeeds in making him feel horrible, but he sticks to adulthood. When his lover Fingolfin arrives, Lindir rushes to him for some much-needed comfort.

More fanfic fanart...I think I'll stop mentioning it, since it seems like most of my stuff is fanfic-based. The Magic Rat came out with another great chapter, and my muses demanded screen time.

You'd think that 3D would be easy. Toss a few virtual puppets into a virtual playroom and snap a virtual photo, right? Maybe my computer is just old and not really up to the processing power needed for 3D rendering, but this image took 20 hours of straight work (and most of that was just waiting for the program to finish whatever command I had just given it, so I could give it another). Ah well, I still like the result.

"Erestor the Whale" - Fin is in biiiiiiiiig trouble over this one.

My female 3D doll is called Victoria, and I have discovered her secret. Being that she is female, quite logically she has a tummy morph that makes her look pregnant. Quite illogically, she also has a morph that makes her look male. Not just flat-chested....m-a-l-e, male. Too much fanfic has corrupted me, so when my brain finally put these two morphs together, mpreg is what came out.

And naturally, Erestor gets to bear the brunt of my inspiration. Enjoy my insanity!

"The Hunter and His Prey" - Mighty hunter Frost prepares to pounce on his unsuspecting prey.

A promised piece for the Magic Rat. Made two seperate renders and merged into one image. The borders were made of elements from a purchased set of materials.

In order of appearance, we have Elrond, Elrohir, Frost*, Rabbit*, Haldir, and Mauburz*. These were done as a Christmas '07 present to Rattie. Clicking on any thumbnail will get you a full size image of all six.

"Jin, the Ronin" - A ronin, a masterless samurai...That is what Takeda Jin has become after slaying his master, Mariya Enshirou. It was not an act of malice or greed, simply self-preservation. His master had become slave to others...others who wanted the noble samurai turned into honorless assassins...and wanted Jin dead. Here we see Jin during his long travels, stopping only for a moment's meditation.

Jin is a character from the anime series Samurai Champloo. The main plot holding the series together is...well, weak ("I'm a young idealistic girl, who through sheer blind luck met you and saved your lives. Now you, filthy pirate with a good soul, and you, aloof but loyal ronin, will travel with me as I seek a samurai who smells like sunflowers."), but it hooked me. The character developement alone is worth it. I'm sure there are places to buy the whole series, but I'm broke, so I spent a good long time looking up episodes on YouTube.com.

Jin is by far my favorite character. He is controlled, intelligent, and on the rare occasion that he lets is hair down (or it gets pulled down), he is absolutely drool-worthy. Having said that, I expect the SC fan community to hang me for making Jin's hakama ("trousers" for you and me) the wrong color. They're supposed to be much darker. Ah well...I'm new to the fandom. We'll just say that it was Mugen's turn to do laundry, and he just dumped the bleach in rather than measuring it.

"Mentor" - The dragon is the youth's grandfather. Junior has dragon eyes and fire powers, and gets lessons from Grampy whenever he can.

This started out as me trying to create a firebender (a la Avatar: the Last Airbender), but it sorta morphed into a different story as I was creating it.

"Happy-Joy...Now you die!" - And she is called Gloria...for she is glorious in her evilness.

Lady Gloria has just recieved word that all of her evil plans are going off without a hitch. Which means that lots of people have died/are dying/will die, and whatever it is she has coveted so much is about to be handed to her on a golden platter.

What she doesn't know is that the heroes have discovered her one weakness: she is deathly allergic to peanuts! And they have baked a batch of double-chocolate peanut butter cookies. In her current state of PMS, Lady Gloria will be unable to resist the chocolatey goodness presented to her, and the heroes will save the day.

But right now she's happy, so leave her alone if you know what's good for you.

"To Wish Upon a Star" - Not Disney, but she's sweet and sad.

"Robotica" - Kinda/sorta inspired by Metalocalypse. I just had a thought of "Is there such a thing as 'too much metal'?"

"Fantasy vs. Reality" - This one was inspired by watching .hack. It's an anime where people log into a virtual world to go gaming. In the real world, these people are ordinary, even dull. Inside The World, they are bright and colorful, warriors and magicians, anything their heart desires, anything they can't be in the real world.

So this kinda cooked up in my head: a lovely but plain woman, and her MarySue alter ego.

"Dancer" - Truthfully, this came out of an insane drive to figure out how to make MAT files for my 3D program. Lo and behold, there's a program that'll do it for you. You just need the textures to load onto the figure.

So I piddled around with the Hiro character and his clothing until I got a pose I liked. The color cue came from the fans. More piddling in Photoshop this time) to make a texture that matched them, and voila: Hiro the Geisha.

And yes, in a fit of glee, I made MAT files for the clothes.

"Spring Rain" - Speaks for itself, I think.

"Where Mortals Dare Not Tread, Dragons Babysit" - The great dragon Skawlik watches over his charges, the nine Elementals.

Dark and Holy are sparring.
"Ima gonna hafta smacka bitch!"
"Would you just shut up and fight already..."

Heal is on the side refereeing.
"And you know I'm going to have to patch them back together afterwards."

Earth is watching the fight, but Wind doesn't really care.
"They have interesting fighting techniques. Don't you think?"
"Pfft...It's the same as every other fight they have."

Fire tries to caution Lightning about his antics, but as usual, Lightning has too much energy to let anyone else speak.
"Dude, Skawlik is--"
"SoIwaslikeZAPPO,andthentheguy'shaircaughtonfire.DUDEyoushould'vebeenthere!Anywayafterthat...."

Twin brothers Ice and Water take bets on how long Skawlik will let Lightning be an idiot before knocking him back onto the floor.
"I give it two minutes."
"No way. Skaw hates having to fly after Light when he falls...Means he has to get up from his perch. I give it one minute, tops."

Skawlik contemplates smacking the twins instead.
"How the hell did I get this lousy job?"

But he really does love them.

OhgodOhgodOhgodOhgodOhgod! This thing has taken forever. Program crashes, slow loads and reloads, super slow rendering times....AAAACK!!!

It took a day just to place and pose everything the way I wanted, and two days to try to render it with shadows. After much hair pulling and failed attempts to render smaller sections at a time, I did a straight render with no shadows, and added the shadows manually with Photoshop (which is why the angles don't quite match up if you look too closely. Grrr, hate painting shadows).

Water: Oh hells, no. Not both. He just nabbed another treasure out east. His hoard's just huge now!

Holy: If you both shut up and let me concentrate, I'll f***ing polish his hoard!

Ice/Water: Deal.

"The Dame" - When a woman is knighted, she is not called Sir. She is called Dame.

The Dame knows how rare she is (for the fighting nature of a knight is the height of "unfeminine") and rarer still that she doesn't hide her curving form beneath bulky metal.

"I am as I was made to be," she says about herself. "Why should I hide myself so that others may be comfortable?"

"Gleaming in the Moonlight" - The Dame finds one of the nightfiends that have been preying along the Long Road. The road is the fastest and, but for fiends, the safest way of reaching the prosperous North Kingdom. Drawn by the dim light of dying campfires, nightfiends catch unwary travelers while they sleep.

The Dame's debut in the last pic left me a little off. She's a kickass knight, so leaving her giving horsie an apple was a bit....lame.

I have rectified the matter now.

"The Ultimate Theft Deterrent System" - Be it common auto thieves, tow trucks, or repo men...no one will ever take your car if you have the Ultimate Theft Deterrent System!!!

"Domed Ship" - It's a ship....in a dome.

Not that great, I know...but I've had the ship for a while now, and I just bought the bases, and discovered one looked like ocean waters. So meh, I did it.

And now I must resist the temptation to call this piece "Avast, men! Thar be the paperwork!"

"Waiting for High Tide" - An orcamaid beached herself while catching a few rays. It's fine though. It gives her mate more time to catch dinner - maybe a couple selkies, or one of those prissy mermaids. She's hoping for a mermaid...They usually come with jewelry.

Carrera is an expensive piece of software (even when it's on sale). I got it ages ago, but hardly ever use it. So I decided to take advantage of Carrera's terrain builder and shaders to make a little 'Shroom Castle in the desert.
